The WCUP Championship (formally the Wikination Cup Championship) is a racing series for touring and rally cars, culminating with a team champion, but not a driver champion. The championship involves a variety of circuit, street and rally races. Cars in the competition must be based off of production vehicles and be equipped for track and dirt racing, which adds more difficulty to the race. The series consists of races driven on surfaces ranging from gravel to tarmac and snow.
The WCUP was formed in early 2014 from well-known and popular international rallies and circuit races. The series was first contested in 2015.
History[]
The WCUP Championship was in development since 2014. The tournament was announced in early 2015. The first race was held in April 2015, and the season ran until October. The inaugural season counted five races and was won by Libertan team Quantas Racing. In the second edition, there were two more races and two more teams at the start of the championship. For the third edition, another two teams joined the championship.
