The church's famous facade

It was built as a cathedral from 1556-1560 and is the oldest church building in the capital. This church has been the site of many royal weddings and was the location of King Ambroos I's wedding to Caroline of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld and the site of his coronation in 1800. Many other royals have married here as well.

The bishop of the church is Adam Berger, in that position since 2012.
