Sophia Risser

Risser in 2015

Sophia Risser (born 12 October 1992) is an Anglo-Namibian tennis player and model. She has lived in Brunant since 2014, and is the wife to Prince Alexander, who is the former heir to the Brunanter throne.

Biography[]

Risser was born to John Risser of Windhoek, Namibia, and Emma Winteringham of Guildford, England. She grew up in Windhoek until moving to London with her family in 1999. Risser began representing Namibia in international tennis from 2006. She worked occasionally as a fashion model since 2008. In 2015, she retired from tennis to take up modelling

Through mutual friend Anna Pennington, Risser met Prince Alexander at a party in 2012, and in 2014, she began a much publicized relationship with the prince. The pair became a more serious couple after it was confirmed that they were moving in together in the summer of 2015. Though the prince would rarely partake in state events, Risser was his guest at the Queen's Independence Day banquet in 2016, and appeared at other independence day festivities.

In April 2017, an engagement for the couple was announced, approved by the queen, and a wedding date was set for 7 October that year. They were married in Milan, Italy. The media have since then spoken of potential children for the pair, though Risser has stated she is happy to enjoy their marriage for now.
