Simon Jordans (born 2 July 1992) is a Brunanter footballer who currently plays for Cape Cross FC.
Biography[]
Club career[]
Born in Sint-Anders, Jordans initially joined the youth team of Brezonde 1920 F.C. in 2009. At Brezonde, Jordans became known as a future talent and appeared in various unofficial/friendly games as well as one Parish League match. In 2012, he was traded to Standard Cape Cross for around 120,000 euros. He performed extremely well attracting FC Willemstad's attention only after one year at the club. In January 2013, FC Willemstad signed Simon Jordans for a massive 1.8 million euros.
In January 2014, media reported that Simon Jordans went to Kemburger club North Beach Kemburg for €1.5 million, but no such deal took place. Jordans joined Cape Cross FC in January 2015 on a half-season loan, which was extended for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons as well.
After the 2016-17 First League, Jordans joined Cape Cross permanently.
National team[]
In 2009, Jordans made his first appearance for the Brunant national U20 team versus Angola. His first goal was against Belarus in 2010. He played his last U20 game in 2012 in a friendly game against Egypt.
He has been called up for the senior team sixteen times between 2013 and 2016, but only played four games for the national team.
Personal life[]
Jordans was born to August and Caroline Jordans. His mother was an Olympic sprinter and his older brother Sep is a handball player. He is the nephew of celebrity footballer Oliver Jordans.
