Marten brinde

The Bridge, circa 1929

The Marten Bridge (named after King Marten I) is a bridge in Koningstad connecting Dortmund to Charleston Beach. It is a continuation of Mediterranean Avenue. This bridge was built in 1738 as a secondary bridge to the Adrianbrug. The future Fairmont Koningstad was built next to the bridge in the 1870s. In the early 1930s, the city erected statues of famous Brunanter monarchs.
