Liberation Day is a national holiday commemorating the liberation of Brunant in 1944 from the Germans. That day is officially the 13th of April, but is usually held on the next Monday if it falls on a weekend.
Between the 10th and the 15th of July American troops liberated Brunant from the Germans. They started in Roodstad and ended in Grijzestad. The Underground Revolution helped and many Germans were killed or captured. On 15 July the country was declared free.
In 1987 the 13th of April was declared as a national holiday. In the whole country are festivals on that day with music and every town or city has its own activities program. The President visits every year another place to celebrate the Liberation Day.
