Anthony and Bertha Engel Cie. is a Brunanter car manufacturer famous in the 1950s and 1960s.
Engel was founded in 1951 by a husband-wife team in Grijzestad. They had a passion for fine motorcars and wanted to achieve that themselves. Production began in 1952 and they built (and sold) 8 cars in their first year. By 1960 they were established as a style leader and as one of Brunant's top makes. Tough competition from other European luxury makes led to Engels retirement from the car industry in 1967. Engel has since continued a limited amount of the 1963 design cars until 1980 and has since focused on making bicycles.
