History[]
BBN 1 is the oldest television channel in Brunant. It originated with experimental testing in 1952, and with regular broadcasting in 1954. Early programming was mostly pre-recorded, with the exception of the Golden Jubilee of King Johan II in 1963, and sporting events, starting with the 1959 Johan II Cup final.
It was originally bilingual (as today), but in 1965 with the creation of a second channel broadcast only in Dutch. It received the name of BT1 (Brunanter Televisie 1) in 1977, used until 1979 when the simple "1" logo was employed.
In 1989 BBN 1 became the first news-only channel in Brunant.
