Atela is a Brunanter company producing a variety of components for military equipment and vehicles. Until the late 1990s they produced light military vehicles, most notably the ATCM.
History[]
Atela was founded in 1959 by Giovanni Atella, an Italian-born engineer. He began by producing armored Land Rovers for the Royal Guard and outfitted them with machine guns for a number of reconnaissance and patrol roles.
In 1967 Atela produced a small Jeep-type vehicle. From the early 1970s they produced the ARC 70 armoured car, a precursor to the versatile ATCM.
Since 2010 they have been developing the Heavy Armoured Car, which would complement and in part replace the ATCM.
