Andrea Penley (born 19 July 1942) is a Brunanter fashion designer based in Juliana.

Biography[]

Penley has designed clothes for her own labels as well as for Cassals. She founded the eponymous label Maison Penley in 1974 in Grijzestad, focusing on haute couture and tailored designs. She moved to Juliana in 1987, where she started a ready-to-wear label Penley by Andrea.

In the mid-1970s, Penley's designs focused on clean and simple clothing, featuring more body-hugging forms. By the late 1970s, she used bright coloured prints and looser-fitting clothes, famously exhibiting a range of baggy jumpsuits for the F/W Mode Week 1981. In 1984, she was named head designer at Cassals, bringing in brighter-patterned and <<fun>> designs, compared to their sobering and formal designs from the 1960s and 1970s.
