Alejandro Vasquez (13 May 1991 in San José) is a Costa Rican footballer who currently plays for FC Pieter II in Brunant as a forward.

Biography[]

Vasquez began his footballing career with the youth squad of CF Universidad de Costa Rica in mid-2009. He developed well, and was promoted to the main squad in early 2010. He became a proficient goalscorer in the Primera División and was bought by Primavera CF in Traspes in the summer of 2011. He performed well there, but he did not get very many chances to play in the starting eleven and in mid-2012, he was sold to FC Pieter II. At FC Pieter II, Vasquez quickly became an important player. He has been a consistent and increasingly proficient goalscorer, especially when playing in tandem with Andrew Silverstone, and he has played an important part in FC Pieter II's good performance in the 2014-15 Second League.

International career[]

Vasquez appeared several times for the Costa Rica national under-20 football team in late 2010 and early 2011. He played for his country at the 2011 CONCACAF U-20 Championship, scoring three goals against Guadeloupe, Cuba and Guatemala. Costa Rica lost the final to Mexico with Vasquez as substitute.

He made his first appearance for the senior Costa Rica national football team in late 2014, although he had been an unused substitute in the squad in 2013.
