Abel Horst Books is a very old Brunanter book publisher.
Abelard Horst (c. 1580-1622) started a bookmaking company around 1615. In 1616 it published its first book, a dutch-language version of the Bible. Other books soon followed but he died in 1622. Shutting down operations for a few years, it was restarted by his nephew Dirk in 1624. Abel Horst was known for printing books, manuscripts and quite famously, anti-royalist leaflets during the time of the Civil War and Liberal Revolution, when it was shut down by force by royalist troops. They are known for publishing controversial and often inflammatory books.
