History[]
AFC Rosetown was founded by a group of local businessmen in 2003 after a dispute between the board members of Aurora F.C. over finances. The new club purchased the Admirality Way athletics club, where the club now plays its home games.
In 2008, the club was purchased by multi-millionaire property tycoon, George Saronio, who injected millions of Euro's into the club in a bid to gain promotion to the top flight. Saronio's investments have so far proved to be in vain, however, as AFC Rosetown were unable to gain promotion from the Parish League System; pundits have pointed to several factors to explain AFC Rosetown's lack of success despite its financial resources, including dubious signing decisions such as relying excessively on fading veterans and overpaying Second League washouts, as well as poor on-field management.
