8 Koningstraat was the official residence of the President of Brunant, located in Koningstad Centrum. It is a National Monument. The building has since 2015 been the headquarters for the Royal Council of Fashion.

History

8 Koningstraat was built from 1761-1764 as a home to Chief Minister Philip Eckstein. His family owned the house until 1786, when it was occupied by James Carrington's government. He used the house as a residence and and government office while Koningsberg Palace underwent renovations. Since 1816, the presidents have used that house as an official residence until 2014, when the post was abolished after a referendum. The house is likely to be transformed into a museum or some sort of historic or cultural center in the future.

For now, it is believed that the house could serve various fashion uses, including a museum of fashion. From 2015, the house will be home to Mode Week. The National Museum of Fashion is being organized on the location, set to open by Christmas 2017.
