The 1814 War Medal was a Brunanter campaign medal issued in 1815 and 1816 to soldiers who participated in the Napoleonic Wars (6th and 7th coalitions) in 1814 and 1815 and the Neapolitan War in 1815. The medals featured a bust of King Ambroos, and on the reverse the dates <<1814>> or <<1814-1815>>.
Appearance and distinctions[]
The medal features a bust of King Ambroos designed and engraved by Italian sculptor Giacomo Ventimiglia. The reverse of the medal features a wreath with the following dates inscribed:
- <<1814>>: For service in either 1814 or 1815; no date for service in 1815 alone was created.
- <<1814-1815>>: For service in both years. This medal is gilt for officers.
Every soldier, warranted officer and commissioned officer was awarded the medal for participating in Brunant's campaign, which included:
